IES Intelligent Communities Lifecycle (ICL)
What is it?
ICL Digital Twin enables the energy-efficient design and continuous operational optimisation of not just single but entire groups of buildings. Its main aims are:
- Hit Zero Carbon Targets: implement a coherent and effective decarbonisation plan for any built environment assets.
- Unique Technology: combining physics-based simulation with 3D modelling, real-time operational data, Machine Learning and AI.
- Multiple Data Sources: bring any data from any source into the platform to investigate performance at any level.
- Interconnected System: the shared central database and interconnected tools allow to easily share data and analysis results across the platform.
Who is it for?
Architects - Designers - Engineers
Civil Society - Citizens
National & Regional Authorities
ICL Digital Twin technology tackles the built environment at scale - from citizens to companies, campuses, communities, cities and even whole countries.
IES ICL consists of 4 tools connected to the ICL Collaboration Cloud, with the goal of bringing projects to life through data visualisation across a Community or a Portfolio of buildings. They are:
- Intelligent Community Design (iCD) – for master planning and urban design by urban designers and town planners.
- Virtual Environment (VE) – for new design and retrofit by architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Intelligent Control and Analysis (iSCAN) – for building operation and control by building and facility managers.
- Intelligent Virtual Network (iVN) – for analysis and control of resource networks (electricity, heating, cooling, and waste heat) and support the design of distributed energy networks or micro-grids.
