Service Design Toolkit
What is it?
UserCentriCities has introduced a comprehensive web-based Service Design Toolkit designed to guide cities and regions in adopting a user-centric perspective when designing and delivering digital public services. This toolkit encompasses methodologies, tools, and strategies, and promotes the exchange of best practices, enhancing peer-to-peer collaboration. It also features insights from city developers, showcasing real-world applications of these methodologies.
Developed in partnership with the Observatory of Public Sector Innovation (OPSI) Toolkit Navigator by the OECD, the toolkit is organised into three core sections:
- Design Thinking: This focuses on cultivating a user-centric mindset, offering resources to grasp the essence of design thinking in public service development.
- Service Design Methods: This section provides hands-on tools tailored for crafting user-centric services, curated from the OECD's OPSI Toolkit Navigator, emphasizing digital public services.
- How Cities Do It: Here, methodologies employed by UserCentriCities' partner cities are highlighted, complemented by videos and narratives from city developers detailing their user-centric approaches.
Who is it for?
The service design toolkit is available to support local administrations' service designers in their services development process.
