What is it?

Sheld-on is a multidisciplinary network supported by the COST Association to support the development of solutions that allow older persons to live safely, comfortably, and healthily at home through integrating design, ICT, ergonomics and health knowledge into furniture and building design. The main aim of sheld-on is to establish a multidisciplinary network to support the development of research and solutions that allow the elderly to live safely, comfortably, and healthily at home later in life.

Experts from the furniture and habitat business, information and communication technologies, and the healthcare sector are all represented by Sheld-on. The action will provide a platform for the exchange of information, expertise, and best practices amongst the many groups to create solutions for healthy ageing at home, in the community, and at work.
It is a great tool for civil society, construction industry players, architects, designers, and engineers.
