Almeria 2030 is the Municipal Company in charge of thinking, designing and bringing to reality the city model you have always wanted to live in. A modern, sustainable, developed, accessible, accessible, connected, inclusive, diverse, and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the European Green Pact and the European Urban Agenda. As a first step towards this Almeria of the Future, a Strategic Plan Almeria 2030 was designed. A first project of a global strategy, which has been followed by the Action Plan of the Urban Agenda of Almeria and which will be completed with the development of the Integrated Territorial Strategy of Almeria on which work is being done and which will lead Almeria to position itself as an innovative city with an eye on the future welfare of its citizens.

At its Brussels production site, BC materials blends and transforms ordinary earth streams - considered by some as waste - into perfectly circular building materials, such as clay plasters, compressed earth blocks and rammed earth. The DGT is active in promoting the NEB at national level since the beginning of the initiative, namely through the coordination of the inter-ministerial National Working Group for the implementation and promotion of the NEB principles and its dissemination, in 2021. Within this framework, the DGT has organized a public NEB dissemination event, with the participation of ministries’ delegates and stakeholders and has promoted NEB’s progress and activities through newsletters, social media, news, articles and the participation in national and international NEB related events. This is an ongoing process, with the DGT contributing to establish connections between the NEB and other initiatives/programmes, such as URBACT or the National Circular Cities Initiative (InC2). Coordinated with the NEB National Contact Point, the DGT intends to continue this interaction and to further promote the NEB, as well as the enlargement of the NEB community with valuable members from across the country.
